I just got an email from Mark, KD5AIV, noting that the CAREN Hamfest on
September 16, 2017, has been CANCELLED.
As a result, the VE Testing that was to take place there, is also
CANCELLED.
They will decide what to do on a future hamfest this winter...but there's
a possibility that the only "big hamfests" in Arkansas will be at:
1) Hoxie (southwest of Walnut Ridge) in early February
2) Russellville (in early March)
3) Fort Smith (in early April)
4) Mena (the weekend after Labor Day)
Also, I talked to ARRL/VEC, and they said that the NEW NCVEC Form 605's
(with "the felony question") will take effect on August 21, 2017. Older versions
of the NCVEC Form 605, should be destroyed on that day.
