Hi Robert,

Yes, I send mail traffic crash to your system with BBBS's binkp in my two
dialout nodes that I set up in two scripts for my nodes 2 and 3. ( in one
script, I call bbbs like this: ./bbbs 2 2 TCPIP and in the other I call it
like this: ./bbbs 3 3 TCPIP; the rest of scripts look pretty much like my
script for node 1.)

Yes, you can send mailer traffic in telnet mode.

I have bbbs set in bcfg4 like this for those two nodes (this is node 2):
./bcfg4 2 ->Local: Modem: Dial->  1: ATR                  |          ,IBN
                               |  2: ATD                  |          ,IP
                               |  3: ATD                  |          ,ITN

(see below though for Kim's example)

The setup for my node 3 is the same as above for Local: Modem: Dial above.

Telnet is there, ITN or IP. ATD will dial telnet nodes. ATR will dial
binkp/raw nodes. For telnet nodes, I also had to set:

bcfg4 2 ->Local: Toggles -> BackDoor toggles -> [X]BackDoor enabled, [X]Send
Crashmail, [X] Slow Protocols.

and bcfg4 2://local/general/OK_poll_flags contains "(,ITN|,IBN)"

I have you set right now for binkp as I mentioned, I could change it to telnet
... :)

I do that in external.bbb's remap section:

========
[node_remap]
;,4d_nodenumber,sitename,location,sysop,phonenumber,flags

,1:116/18.0,Neptune's_Lair,Memphis_TN,Robert_Wolfe,neptune.ddns.net,300,XX,CM,I
BN
=======

If want to switch you to have my mailer connect to you with telnet, I would
change the binkp flag, IBN to the telnet flag (IP or ITN).

Now with this beta of BBBS you don't always need the remap section for some
nodes..

This is how Kim explained some of this:

bcfg4://local/general/OK_poll_flags contains "(,ITN|,IBN)" (or similar) and
bcfg4://local/modem/dial is something like:

1:   ATR   |   ,IBN
2:   ATD   |   .

Lots of stuff here <grin> Hope this helps. Let me know if this all makes some
sense.  <g>

Take care,
Janis
