At one of my last jobs, there were often online meetings with many people in dif
ferent offices. Sometimes they had to ask people to mute their mic (or just mut
e everyone except the speaker) due to all the noise coming through many peoples'
mics. It would often be a combination of typing, people eating things, people
talking to other people near their computer, and/or various other noises.
