BM>Hi Daryl!
Hi, Barry...
BM> DS> I really liked Windows XP (was originally reluctant to upgrade
BM> DS> from 98)...but I like Windows 7 32-bit better. However, I'm not
BM> DS> going any higher...I've heard too many horror stories, as it
BM> DS> were, with Windows 8 and 10.
BM>Right. It's like reading reviews when considering buying a product.
BM>Somebody will always think it's the greatest thing, somebody else will
BM>post it's garbage. I usually look at the low ones to see what potential
BM>problems I could run in to and scan through the rest for any tips and
BM>considerations.
Mike Ehlert told me that if I had a current licensed version of
Windows 7 32-bit, I could upgrade to Windows 10 32-bit for free. But,
I'm worried about the hardware and software compatibility issues...and
am a firm believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!!".
BM>(After several instances and re-installs I proposed and got approved BM>where
I remapped a few of the keys: DEL would type as DWL and do nothing BM>except
frustrate the wannabe nuisance.)
That works. Maybe you should have put an ANY key on there...so they'd
press it when told to "Press Any Key To Continue". <G>
BM>When it bugs you enough you'll change!
Chrome takes forever to load after initial bootup...and at times on
Facebook, it locks...I think waiting for their "chat deal" to come up. I
may see if I can block "*chat.facebook.com". I don't mind using
Messenger, but don't care to chat.
BM>Just automated versions of those humans being nuisances. ...I saw an BM>HTML
command which was was supposed to tell the bots not to go further. BM>Neat!!
...Wait a minute: that's like a stop sign at an intersection.
BM>One is supposed to stop, just because the stop sign says so, but what's
BM>really doing the stopping? Same with the HJTML command. Seems BM>relatively
easy to install a "just keep going" code.
On the stop sign, there are 2 deals...
1) Drunk people run stop signs. High people wait for them to turn green.
2) You have a STOP sign, and right below it, a sign that says "No
Stopping At Any Time". What are my options??!! :P
