There's an ignorant belief among the politians that laws can make people do
things (like act against their self-interest). But there's an old saying:
If the only tool you have is a hammer, all problems look like a nail.
Then you add to that the Lefties will never admit that their solution was
wrong, so they will always double down on their failed solution.
