The comment was mostly about hitting a duck with a .22 in flight is a
pretty good shot, in contrast with say, a shotgun, which AFAIK is much
more appropriate (and legal). But whatever.
IIRC, it's illegal to use a rifle to shoot birds with rifles in most
locations.
