Hey there. I just wanted to mention... I had asked a little while back about
an IDE for JavaScript that was capable of showing a 'code outline' of sorts, wi
th the different objects, methods, and properties. Well, I guess I had used the
term 'IDE' incorrectly, as I was just looking for a code editor that would do t
his, but I did find one that fits the bill pretty well if anybody else is lookin
g for something with a little smarter help than vim. Nothing against vim, I abs
olutely love it, but in a complex project, I really do like having something wit
h a code outline.
Anyway, I stumbled across 'visual studio code' (which, despite the name, works
on Linux as well as Doze), and it's pretty lovely. It does everything that I w
as looking for, along with having a miniature outline of the entirety of the sou
rce file on the side so that you can navigate within it more easily (another fea
ture that I'm really fond of).
Just thought I'd mention that in case of anybody looking for something that'll
help for those Synchronet mods and other JavaScript projects. I'm not sure if
I'd use it for something where a full IDE is required, I haven't yet tried it wi
th any other languages, but it's pretty nifty for Synchronet's JavaScript capabi
lities.
Peace!
