Does anyone have an unused MFJ 1270 Series TNC (long since obsolete),
with a power supply...a rig (at least 10 watts of power)...a power supply
for the rig...a connecting cable from the TNC to the rig (I can order a
cable from the TNC to the computer)...and possibly a connector with a
magmount antenna??

The reason is that the late Dave Perry, W4KGU (SK) created an Amateur
Radio Packet Door, that could be used on landline or telnet BBS's...in
the latter case, under Synchronet BBS sofware. With the door, users who
were licensed ham radio operators (Technician Class or above) could log
on to the BBS, and access VHF Packet via the Sysop's TNC. It would also
provide a packet mailbox, without the packet BBS.

I used to have one, but gave it to a fellow ham a few years ago, when
I didn't think I could have any RF gear, due to antenna prohibitions, and
RFI issues. But, the lease notes "no wires/cables across the floor ON THE
DAY OF THE INSPECTION", and I don't think that 10 watts would cause that
much interference...especially when it's inside my apartment, and the RF
Safety level on 2 meters is 50 watts.

If anyone has a setup like this for sale (serious offers only), please
email me at daryl dot stout at wx1der dot dyndns dot org -- or to wx1der
at gmail dot com -- thanks in advance for the reply.
