BM>Hi Daryl!
Hi, Barry...
BM> DS> That's fine...we get carried away.
BM>Now where that tagline about a sentimental gurney?!
Now, I'll have to undergo the surgery like the guy in the hospital,
with loads of bandages on his head. The doctor comes in with a huge jar
full of musical notes, and says "Good news, Mr. Smith!! We got rid of
that tune that was stuck in your head"!! <G>
BM>Never heard of the cherry cordials as moonpies; I'm recalling only as
BM>chocolate covered cherries. May have to take a look, though as long sa BM>it
took me to get The Old Farmer's Almanac.....
They're Little Debbie brand. Normally, you see them only around
Valentine's Day...but this year, a local Kroger had them out before
Christmas, so I stocked up.
BM>One may as well make the best of situation! ...I try to make the people
BM>helping me (nurses, radiologists, phlebotomists, doctors,...) feel good:
BM>little jokes, etc., but stay away from anything
BM>'controversial/unprofessional'. The 'shove it' would be OK.
I knew a lady who originally was a phlebotomist...then she did
colonoscopies. Then, you have all the "actual statements heard" from
people who underwent them. I've been asleep when mine have been
done...and I'm due for "both ends" (upper and lower GI) in 2018. I'll
try to get them done at the same time. Medicare requires at least a year
and a day between them, and it has been over 2 years on each one...so,
I'm due. Yet, my GI doctor is so busy right now, the earliest I can see
him is January 30!!
BM> BM>And I did built two Heathkit TVs: a GR-300 for my parents and years
BM> BM>later a GR-3000 for myself.
BM> DS> You got a sense of pride building that stuff.
BM>And a learning experience when things go wrong.
And, a charge out of the situation. :P
BM>When I took Physics 101 and 102 I pointed out to the instructor the
BM>resistor (etc.) colour code was Black, Brown, the visible light
BM>spectrum, White. That shortcut helped him remember the sequence.
Interesting. I never had physics, but know it takes more inertia to
stop a moving object than it does to start it. Case in point...a moving
freight train.
One locomotive can be 300 tons, with a fully loaded freight train well
over 12,000 tons. A car is basically 1 to 2 tons...it's no contest.
They would NEVER seat me on a jury in a railroad crossing accident...the
law of physics wins every time.
Daryl
