They won't listen.
One of the problems with our current gov't is that it attracts people who are
Elite (or so they believe). They think that they are smarter than the average
person, better, etc. So they don't need to listen to use, instead we need to
listen to them.
As the old saying goes, "You can't fix stupid." and these people are the worst
of the stupid - so stupid that they can't even accept the idea that they are
stupid.
