Interesting observation. I use and have used Panda with the paid-for version
for many years now. Interestingly, about or just after the end of March my
complete non-free Panda 2015 Global Protection I use on only one Windows
computer primarily for research work with Magic Jack only not only collapsed on
that system but it wound up VERY badly being assaulted on the entire SATA hard
drive. I've worked fairly closely with Panda's crew on things for a long time
also for other reasons. But don't usually contact their folks unless I can't
'fix' whatever myself. Turns out the a whole pile full of the Panda
directories and files were very badly corrupted and the Windows boot-up
CheckDsk utility wound up with TONS of the Panda files with allocation errors!
OK, although I could have used a 'furnished' removal executable that I do have
from Panda, I chose to do research and see what might be found as
'in-the-middle' of this mess. The Windows CheckDsk utility apparently
'cleaned' up that part of the mess. However the 2015 Global Protection was
totally trashed. OK, I, including to see if maybe the system was perhaps
'hacked' or whatever, tried to use the special Panda executable to 'remove' the
product and I'd get it all over again. Nope! It could not even do that! OK,
I went and got a complete new download of the product, which I most always do
as the stored complete file which I then choose to execute. WOW! It took me
FOUR complete interrupted install vectors to finish the install! Each time
there was a complete 'locked' Panda subdirectory that I had to use the Windows
actual delete tool to erase, then start over on the install! It finally
finished the complete new install, but would never orginally handle any kind of
Renew or Repair from the Panda site. Then I was able to use the original
special access registration code to move it from the 30 day trial version to
the 'normal' version. Which at this point seems to be working better than the
original utility did except for one still not-able point. At this time I have
still been unable to actual turn 'on' the Panda Firewall that originally worked
fine here with 2015 Global Protection.
Anyway, I'm still playing fiddle-faddle with this issue which if I can't get
that to resume operations I'll touch base with their crew.
Interesting that you posted your comment. I still have the perception of
