It's not as if the .45 ACP has that much recoil anyway. I mean, yeah, there
are some handguns where the impulse is rather stout, but even in something as
small as my PT-145, it's not bad at all. So yeah, that weight really soaks up
the recoil and then on top of that, as if they really needed it, Hi-Point
designed the Gen2 carbines with buffer springs in the butt pad. Yeah, they are
nice to shoot. Also the pistol and the carbine use the same mage, which makes
it a contender for a home defense ensemble.

It's completely nuts. I've been buying almost exclusively black powder pieces
lately. There's an auction tomorrow where they have about 60 firearms, some
appear to be quite interesting. I've got VE testing on the east side of town
at 9am, the auction starts at 10am in a city 40 miles west of where I'll be.
My wife and step-son are going to the auction, maybe they'll find something
that hasn't been bid up too high for me....
