Hi Daryl!

BM>While I think of it if you want to change Subjects and/or move to
 BM>ChitChat feel free.
 DS> That's fine...we get carried away.

Now where that tagline about a sentimental gurney?!

BM>The building my friend lives in was recently purchased by a new
BM>management company and is undergoing rennovations. For whatever reason
BM>everybody has to move up a flight. He's in 408 so will move to 508 some
BM>time in the late Spring or early Summer. He does have the option to
BM>move to a different apartment, so considering moving to 501 or 502 to
BM>get a better position for his Ham antenna. I also kidded him about the
BM>people currently living on the tenth floor -- do they live on the roof?
DS> The wind is stronger the higher you are.

Hmmm: and he is sensitive to noises.....

BM>We had a 'cheesecake sampler' for dessert to the Family Christmas: 12
BM>maybe more) thinnish slices of a variety of cheesecakes. And yes, one
BM>1" wedge is droolingly good but enough.
DS> When my Mom used to prepare the "no bake cheesecake", we'd let
DS> that first bite just sit in our mouth for a few seconds. <G>

Yummmm!!!!

BM>I'll admit to also doing the canned frosting thing but but to your
BM>extent:the frosting was already in the cupboard and I was 'going crazy'
BM>looking for something sweet. Don't eat the whole thing at once though.
DS> I don't do that anymore...my sweet tooth now is satisfied
DS> either by Little Debbie Cherry Cordials (sort of like cherry
DS> moonpies), or Neopolitan Ice Cream Sandwiches.

Never heard of the cherry cordials as moonpies; I'm recalling only as chocolate
covered cherries. May have to take a look, though as long sa
it took me to get The Old Farmer's Almanac.....

BM>I'm not quite that frequently though sometimes it seems that way!
DS> There were a lot of jokes made about that over the years.
DS> Earlier this year, after complications with kidney stone and
DS> prostate surgery (at least it wasn't cancer), I was having such
DS> severe pain and bladder spasms, that I called 911, for an
DS> ambulance run to the Emergency Room. I was practically in tears,
DS> and these 2 good looking young female nurses came in, and said
DS> "You're not going to like us". I said "I'll kiss you if you make
DS> the pain go away!!". They replied "We have the medicine to do
DS> that, but it's a suppository!!". Shall we say they gave a whole
DS> new meaning to the phrase "Shove It!!"?? -- but it did the job!!
DS> I now drink at least 2 liters of flavored water (strawberry or
DS> peach flavor) a day now.

One may as well make the best of situation! ...I try to make the people helping
me (nurses, radiologists, phlebotomists, doctors,...) feel good:
little jokes, etc., but stay away from anything 'controversial/unprofessional'.
The 'shove it' would be OK.

BM>And I did built two Heathkit TVs: a GR-300 for my parents and years
 BM>later a GR-3000 for myself.
DS> You got a sense of pride building that stuff.

And a learning experience when things go wrong.

BM>with certain shades of green, etc., and it wil never look green. I do
BM>see green grass and green leaves.
DS> The pnemonic (sp?) is "Bad Boys Ravish Our Young Girls; But
DS> Violet Gives Willingly". <G> The first letter of each of those
DS> words is the first letter of the colors on the resistor...black,
DS> brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, green, white. At
DS> one college, the professor in an electronics class was too
DS> embarrassed to tell the female students what it was. When the
DS> male students told the female students, they laughed and said
DS> "That's a great way to remember it!!"...and one of the women was
DS> grinning wryly. When asked what her problem was, she replied "I'm Violet!!"
DS> <BG>. Ironically, I used to work in silkscreen printing
DS> (did that for nearly 20 years, before declining health forced me
DS> to resign)...and the original owner was color blind!!

When I took Physics 101 and 102 I pointed out to the instructor the
resistor (etc.) colour code was Black, Brown, the visible light
spectrum, White. That shortcut helped him remember the sequence.

... What would happen if I put flat paint on a curved surface?
