Just thought I would post this here as a bit of general interest in computer arc
haeology as well as possible future (hopefully). Alan Kay is of course the cre
ator of Smalltalk, and the "GUI" that inspired Steve Jobs. Ted Nelson is the i
conoclastic mind behind Project Xanadu, what would inspire that which we call th
e "world wide web"...or as Ted would say, "they stole the idea, and badly."
This is a fascinating video...I had no idea that Ted and Alan had crossed paths,
and even less of an ide that Alan's future wife was involved with the creation
of TRON.
