re retrieved for safekeeping by the citizens. Germany probably has more "ghost"
M1 Garands and 1911s in civilian hands than we do.
There is a reason why our guys stationed over there in the 90's were occasionall
y approached regarding the possibility of obtaining .30-06 and .45ACP rounds...
