Well, we got some rain but nothing like that. I think it was enough to
account for any watering I might have done myself, but it was not near
enough to really get things growing. We've sort of entered a mostly dry
spell... hot and humid some days but not much rain. The yard barely needed
mowing last weekend, and does not need it at all this weekend. It will get
crunchy soon!

They are not. Just some kind of wild vine-like groundcover that gets
tangled into everything in the flower bed if not kept at bay.
