Yes, almost better to "stay in the Dark Ages" than go through all the
time and expense of upgrading. As I was telling Nancy in the Chit Chat
Conference one of the Windows upgrades killed the STRINGS and GET
utilities, both of which I used as adjuncts in my batch files. Was able
to do work-arounds for some processes, some just no longer work. No
replacements were ever available AFAIK. With the new computer will
probably be able to get rid of my dependence on Windows (XP) as will
switch the BBS to a Linux option and the X10 Home Automation also to
Linux.
