Thanks g00r00. It does appear to be something specific to my Pi setup then.

I've also confirmed that my user (ullr) in this case is the owner of everything
under /mystic.
Digging into this more, mplc on A46 is doing the same thing to me on this pi. So
it seems it's something specific to my setup. I'll keep messing around and
hopefully figure out what's going on.
