The lead car (with the deceased), and the follow up (with the family) have
purple flashing lights.  The rest have purple flags.  If there is a police
cruiser, he or she, usually stops at the intersection with lights flashing while
the rest of the party goes thru (if necessary).  There will always be some idiot
who thinks they dont have to stop for a funeral crossing their path.
 In many case, traffic going either way, moves over to the side where possible,
and stops.
