That worked out particularly well for my aunt in MD... As they put it,
they turned their two-story colonial into a one-story ranch... ;) At
89, she's still living in that house, on her own (my uncle died over a
decade ago), and happily riding up and down the stairs as needed... :)

Somehow I suspect neither scenario is very likely there... ;) It will,
though, simplify his taking care of her to not be having to travel to
and from... :)
(I was a bit surprised to see a spate of messages in here that seem to
be just chat-type... is this ok, or should it be moved elsewhere...? And
what is "CFBBS update info" anyway... I don't think I ended up seeing
