i obviously don't decide what amount of effort crosses that line of "okay, we're
done with xp now, you have to upgrade," but if it isn't a huge task, it's better
to fix the things that keep it working as you go..
otherwise the list gets huge and it ends up being "well, i guess at this point
we basically just /have/ to say it doesn't support xp"
imo "because i wanna" is good enough reason to use xp (in the context of
bbsing/nostalgiacomputing)
