Actually, a surprising amount of people is doing just that. The sad news is in W
estern countries you are often forced by the administration to have an actual sm
artphone, so what ends up happening is people have an old junkyard smartphone fo
r official matters and a regular dumbphone for everything else.
But I think the real problem, once you get a quality smartphone you can flash so
it does not track the hell out of you, is people actually signing up to service
s that suck their time. I have a smartphone with just the stuff I need for work
and it does not piss me much because it does not botherme with social media upda
tes or anything. Most of what I get are automated notifications from servers at
work I actually need to receive :-)
