Yeah. Fairly certain you can replace and/or add ansi just about everywhere in
the 4.08 version, making it quite a bit unique. Caphood/Hawk Hubbard (RIP) had a
completely done up LORD with great ansi everywhere. If I remember right, I did
one of the newer 24 line loader screens for that version.
I just think that after 4.06 more bugs/spelling errors were introduced, is all..
but 4.07+ was a new programmer trying to do new things with it, which I still
respect in any regard. It was a shame what Gameport did to Preslar, though (I
think he had the rights to work on the source, and they basically told him his
time with them was done).. and why 4.08(b) was handed out to a few of the beta
testers as a "!@#$ you" to Gameport. Eventually, after Preslar disappeared and
Gameport got very slow and/or stopped answering emails, it was leaked out to
everyone. :)
