Something I notice all the candidates and most politicians do is step softly
around the subject of urban violence. On a fourth of July weekend more
people die in Chicago than all the mass shootings combined. It doesn't fit
the mainstream narratives of hate filled paranoid fanatics and domestic
terrorists, and it seems like a taboo to talk about people of certain races
or nationalities without automatically being declared a rascist.
