Hello Maurice!
MK> [...] Also I am guessing that @Fido2telebot has a
MK> hardcoded wrap at 72 characters (1960's teletype
MK> machines). Judging by what I see at this end your msg's
MK> are fine but definetly look dated.
"dated"?
I am forcing a shorter than usual line-length with OpenXP.
123456789+123456789+123456789+123456789+123456789+123456789+123
456789+
There should be a CR after char 63 above.
I do this because then my own messages look nicer (not
haphazardly wrapped) when I look at them with Telegram on my
Blackberry! ;)
I also find it easier to read line-lengths that closer resemble
the width of a printed page or newspaper column than the
totally free-flowed paragraphs that sometimes arrive here.
MK> I'll look up all this stuff if anyone is interested but I
MK> doubt I'll ever use it other than for testing. I don't
MK> have much love for these so-called smart devices. To me
MK> they look like perfect targets for ye olde sledge hammer.
MK> :::evil grin:::
Even using the Telegram and Fido link-up just to get
notifications when a message has appeared in an echo is amusing
and handy. It permits taking a quick survey of the new arrival
to see if it needs a reply or not.
