That puzzles me. Once the fysical infrasturcture is there, supplying IPv6 to
customers in rural areas should be no more difficult than doing so in
metropolitan areas. The cables are IP version agnostic.

Here we have tech forums on the internet where ISP customers meet and compare
notes. Don't you have that in Canada? Perhaps you can already have IPv6 but some
flag need to be set by the ISP. Or you need a router update. Something like
that. Comparing notes with fellow customers may help.
