I must say, the last time I installed FreeBSD (was within the past 6 months or
so), I decided to try the 'all-binary' route using 'pkg', and was pretty
impressed with the ease of use, and no worrying about dependencies, much like
I'm used to with Archlinux. It was a much better experience than I've had in the
past.
