Yeah, I had a big network file copy/move recently that really brought down my no
rmal BBS/server operations and that motivated me to count the cost again (I was
expecting to at least move up to 2.5 or 5Gb) - I was pleasantly surprised to see
the 10GBase-T switch prices have come down to Earth and the MikroTik does appea
r to be a quality piece of gear even though it's consumer grade.
I've bought so much tech gear over the past 40 years that ends up worthless and
in a landfill (or my closet, I'm slow to throw out stuff I think I might use aga
in one day), I try to buy new tech only when prices have come down considerably.
