There was another brief Dr Who spin-off on BBC America, during the Capaldi
era, where they did the same thing, except it was gay sex with an alien.
I don't think it lasted more than a few episodes, not because of the love
scenes but because the stories were not good. They made the most-recent
seasons of Dr Who look incredibly well written in comparison.
