Try disabling hardware acceleration in FF.

I had crashes on my modest XP pc with the newer FF rollouts. In my case, the
screen would just go blank. It had nothing to do with the number of tabs. The
problem would occur on some animated-busy websites.
Since I disabled hardware acceleration, FF has not failed.
