I haven't heard about Windows possibly going open-source, but I've heard
speculation that Microsoft might go to a subscription model for Windows.  If
that's the case, I imagine many (more) people would want to switch to another
platform.  I would most likely want to use something else rather than pay a
recurring fee to use my own computer.  Windows is my main OS, but I've been
liking Mint Linux these days..
