   Thanks mark, you are absolutely right. If every *C had used my patched
version already from the Y2K change-over, we wouldn't have to debate this issue 
now.

   And what encoding to use? Who cares? Just let the fucking 128+ characters
pass, and let the users decide how to handle them! If you cannot see them as
they were intended -- big deal. They would at least be more meaningful, than
the present question marks, to many enough users.
