I've had some luck recently using MS-DOS 7.1. FreeDOS does have some game
compatibility issues (relatively few, FWIW) which makes me still prefer MS-DOS.
That said, MS-DOS 7.1 can be yanked out of Win98SE install media, and it's
basically MS-DOS 6.22 with a few extras, in particular FAT32 support.
