This echo is supposed to be about Netmail routing, yes. But really... routing
is freaking simple. Route the *C method. Meaning, go ahead and route for your
immediate connections, but out-of-net stuff should go through the NC/RC/ZC
model.
The reason we had a chart and presumably why I inherited this echo was largely
due to the fact that with Internet connections, people are getting feeds from
anyone - thus Netmail routing became a total mess. The last time the chart was
updated was by Ross Cassell years ago and he gave up maintaining it.
I very stubbornly believe if everyone follows the *C topology, there would be no
routing issues at all, and really the NC of a Net should have direct connections
with his nodes - no matter where those nodes are getting feeds.
