It's only as dangerous as the person pulling the trigger. The same can be
said about a hammer, or an automobile. Drive or swing at people with violent
intent, then suddenly your everyday implement is an assault weapon.
Regardless, what you say is correct. Technically by that definition a gun
can be dangerous because it is easy to use, cumbersome, big, small, long,
short, of large caliber, or of small caliber. Some can be dangerous because
they look scary, or because they don't look scary. The earliest of gun laws
were written to prohibit people of color from carrying concealable pistols,
such as derringers.
