One thing is probably population. China has 1.412 billion people (vs. 331.9 mil
lion in the US) - China just has so many more people that can go into a particul
ar field in the workforce and develop methods to manufacture things. And just th
e sheer number of people who could be available for manufacturing jobs is higher
than many other countries.
