You have a few options:
If you want another feed:
1) Link solely to another system that has the entire backbone (at least 2/3 of
the echos are completely dead though)
2) Link to another system just for echos your current feed doesn't carry.
If you don't want another feed:
Only 1) take a look at the full backbone.na file for Fidonet, and whatever
echos you're interested in you can ask your uplink to add those for you. ;)
Another bit of advice, once you take a look at the full backbone.na and have
echos you're interested in, you may want to take a look at the echo stats given
in the FidoGazette to see if those echos have any traffic in them at all. If
they're dead, you may end up not wanting to carry them.
There are a few moderators that like to hoard echos when they're abandoned -
just with the intent to keep them alive. However, IMHO, they should be allowed
to die since anyone can create their own echo at any time. If the interest of
an echo comes up, and it is seen that it doesn't currently exist, it may
incline new people to start one. On the other hand, if you're interested in an
echo that has been dead for years, post the first message in months to spark up
a topic, and then get told what you can and can't do in said echo by the echo
hoarding moderator, it tends to drive people away and keep the echo dead as a
doornail. ;(
Regards,
Nick
