I've run Windows in Virtualbox for that very reason, but games usually need
more than a virtualized GPU. Sounds like you could run QEMU and pass through
tasks to the GPU.

I don't know. It was one of the worst-kept secrets that Windows 7 keys
worked to upgrade to Windows 10, even as of last year.
