Yeah, the DS1010+ sounds like it's a generation or two behind, but AI was 
able to upgrade it to DSM6, which gets a more featureful shell environment, 
and it's got a ton of things to play with.

I've bonded 2 gig Ethernets using their basic link aggregation, am going to 
play with 802.3ad some time in the future.

As a docker host, I'm not sure how well it'll do (it's a celeron with 3 GB 
of RAM) but I have a Proxmox guest for Docker (and proxmox supports LXC 
natively)

With all of my old 2TB drives in it, I've got 7.2 GB of SHR raid to play 
with.

All in all, it's a great toy to expand my homelab and keep me learning.
