Was thinking a soup might be better in the long run. Think of long-term
rather than just one meal: "pea porridge hot, pea porridge cold, pea
porridge in the pot nine days old". Well, maybe not that bad!! I'm
thinking more 'rock soup': start with water (broth would be better but
will be created), some chopped vegetables -- maybe a bag of frozen mixed veggies
on sale. For next time around add a diced potato and some more water/broth.
Next time a can of beans and replenish the water/broth.
Etc., etc. Whatever is on sale can be added to the soup, plus could
keep out a serving and have a bowl of veggies or beans or whatever
instead of the soup, so adding variety back to your meals.
