Bf> > As long as a guitar can stay in tune with a moderate amount of bending,

Bf> Not to me... but then I think that each axe is individual and stands on
Bf> it's own legs.
Bf> But after saying that, I should admit that my current fave is a Chinese
Bf> made (in the Epiphone Custom shop) Les Paul GoldTop. I only bought it
Bf> because I went to a music store to buy a bass (which I did), and saw it
Bf> sitting on a stand. I had been thinking about getting a goldtop Les
Bf> Paul, and when I played this one, I fell in love with the action... like
Bf> playing a stick of butter. I had to have it so I bought both it and the
Bf> bass. I had not had a guitar that played like that one since my 1966 Gibson
Bf> Melody Maker. I wish I still had that one.
I can relate. Did you ever try a Squire? I thought they were crap until I tried
one. It had a maple fretboard and a very smooth and comfortable neck (like a
soft hardwood.)
I don't know what the rock stars see in expensive guitars.
Bf> But I am comparing this Les Paul to all of my high-dollar, American made
Bf> Fenders, Gibsons, G&Ls and PRSes and while they are great guitars one
Bf> and all (and all for sale I might add), none of them measure up to the
Bf> playability of the LP (which is NOT for sale.)
What are G&Ls? I've seen PRS guitars. What do you get in exchange for all the
money of the world? <jk>
