I think a side effect of the way mainstream Internet services (Facebook and the
like) is handled is that when people wanders off the walled gardens and enter a
place which is not policed, they are shocked because they notice there are lots
of people with opinions that are not allowed in mainstream walled gardens.
So many people has been conditioned to think their opinion is the popular one th
at when they exit the safe bubled they can't take the heat.
