After a cold war where we had thousands of fucking strategic nukes
pointed at each other, you expect either side to just switch gears and
be trading partners? Change takes a generation or two.
What made the current Russian view make a whole lot of sense is looking
at Putin's Russia from the eyes of someone who's living in the cold war
and expecting an invasion from the west.
