And yet very few people get polio now. I am assuming this is just because
we've all been lucky and not because they were able to determine it was caused
by a virus and were eventually able to successfully treat/prevent it?

Again, how do we "know" this? Do you have any sources that are not just as
biased, but in the opposite direction, as your typical Democrat politician?
I have had a doctor or two that were quacks. I have also had several,
including the one I have now, that I trust, and they believe that viruses
exist and cause disease.
