Barry,

DS> What was dangerous was that if you just noted the year on your
DS> checks as "20" instead of "2020", someone could put a different
DS> number after it...and you could be in big trouble for it.

BM> Possibly! Might be able to prove the forgery as the check was
BM> deposited out of sequence and the date was usually written with a two digit
BM> date rather than four. I use a dater stamp -- not to be fancy
BM> but a habit and convenience I got into when working at the college and most
BM> if not all of my documents had to be dated as to when I worked on them.
BM> Started getting into the habit of grabbing the stamp to date and
BM> in some case post the time. Eventually carried that to notes I did at
 BM> home.

That's not a bad idea. I used to have one of those...but I prefer the
self inking ones.

 DS> Sounds like playing a 78 rpm record at 16 rpm. :P

BM> Just about! ...Reminded me of this:
 BM> https://universes.art/en/specials/john-cage-organ-project-halberstadt

BM> ORGAN2/ASLSP, the slowest and longest music piece ever, is being
BM> performed for 639 years in Halberstadt (Germany). Next tone change:
 BM> 5
 BM> September 2020.

BM> Performance started in 2001 with a 17 month pause before the first note
 BM> heard!!

Might as well order that 7 course meal. :P The musical terms Largo and
Adagio I believe are for "slow". The 2 that comes to mind is the Largo by George
Friedric Handel, and the Adagio from the Pathetique Sonata by
Ludwig Von Beethoven. I used to be able to play the latter on the piano.

DS> well...like in response to my QWK Mail Tagline of "I took an IQ
DS> test, and the results were negative"...her response to it was
DS> "That explains a lot <g,d,r>". She said later "I hope you knew
DS> that was in fun", and I said "Yes"...I busted out laughing when I
DS> read it...but I was asking for it.

BM> I must have missed that message when you requsted... -- oh, not
 BM> literally. Nevermind!

I've slept since then. I was offline for a couple of days due to
Laura. She blasted areas around Lake Charles, Louisiana, into
oblivion. There were 47,000 people in Arkansas without power...and
a church in northeast Arkansas was heavily damaged by a tornado.
There were numerous flash flooding reports in western, central,
and southern Arkansas...with numerous tornado warnings across eastern
Arkansas.

DS> Well, I decided to do laundry yesterday, instead of going to an
DS> area Train Show. Because of COVID-19, everyone had to wear masks,
DS> and there was no food or drink for sale. The Saturday show is
DS> bigger than the Sunday one, but I felt doing laundry was more
 DS> important.

BM> <sniff-sniff> Yes! <gg> So did you go on Sunday? Sometimes the
BM> smaller shows are just as good if not better than the big ones as less
BM> of a crowd and so a better opportunity to see up-close.

No...I had to prepare for a ham radio traffic net that afternoon.
Plus, I didn't feel like spending the gas and the money...finances
tend to get tight around the end of the month.

The "low oil warning" on the car went off, but the place where I
normally get the car serviced wanted $70 for an oil change, and I
didn't have that much money. They suggested going to O'Reilly's
Auto Parts, and I found one in North Little Rock. I was just a bit
under a quart low, but they put it in, and the total cost was under
$5!! I was happy as a clam!!

DS> I go through throat losenges like they were candy. I bought 6
DS> packs of 200 losenges from Walgreens last week.

BM> Maybe vary amongst brands? More importantly formulations. Thinking
BM> maybe as often as your taking them your body is getting used to the
BM> anti-cough medication in one and so loosing effectiveness.

Actually, I get more for the money at Walgreens than at either
Kroger or Wal-Mart. As long as it cools the tickle in my throat,
I'm happy. But, I can't take a DayQuil or a NyQuil after taking
an Ibuprofen for arthritis pain, or I go under too deep.

DS> Or like a girl who had the hiccups after eating a certain
DS> food...she didn't want that food anymore, as it made her cough
 DS> funny. :P

BM> Plus she should have been havign she-cups as males get he-cups!

Reminds of the B.C. comic strip, where the "athletic cups" weren't
being used properly (put on the head). :P

BM> ... Wearing holey underwear? No? Then how put your legs through them?

As long as you don't wear them on your head. :P

Daryl

... How do you tell when you're out of invisible ink?
