Yes, I have the GPi case.  I think mine is the newer version though, as it uses 
an internal rechargeable battery rather than AA batteries (and it charges via US
B-C).  I think the battery has a decent life before it needs to be recharged.

I do like the aesthetic, though to me it feels a bit bulky in my hands.  I think
 the original Game Boy did too though.  Before I had this, I had a GCW Zero, whi
ch was thinner, and I felt like it was more comfortable to me to hold. The GCW Z
ero was also a wide one, with the controls to the sides of the screen rather tha
n below.  The main reason I bought the GPi was that the screen on my GCW Zero cr
apped out and wasn't really working anymore, and I thought the GPi would be a co
ol Raspberry Pi project (which it is).
