It sounds like Your group talked to the Lockman in the Upper Control building on
the Lockwall on the South side of the Lock instead of on the North side where
the Visitors area was at.
I say "Was At" because the older 600 Foot and 360 Foot Locks were eliminated and
a second 1200 Foot Lock was built where those Locks were.
The Visitors area is now on the South (Kentucky) side of the installation,
alongside that new 1200 Foot Lock.
I've been retired over twenty years and haven't got a phone call yet from
them asking me how to do something. GRIN
