Right now there's several manufacturers building retro A2 rifles. For
awhile FN was maing an A2 with the older military contract roll mark on the
receiver. PSA bought up the H&R brand name when Remingtondissolved it's
assets, and they are making a replica of th H&R produced M16a1 that was made
under contract around 1969-1970. Colt couldn't keep up ,so H&R and GM
Hydramatic were brought in to build extra rifles. The H&R's had some
cosmetic quirks such as how the forge flashing was cleaned up that made them
unique among collectors.
