Bill,
First, go into C:\VA\DATA, and DELETE any file that has the name PENDING.*
-- otherwise, VADV will repeatedly try to send it.
Second, from the VADV32 main panel, choose S)ettings, Virtual Advanced
Configuration, Networks, and FIDOnet. Choose Edit Dial List, and select the
desired entry. Enter the address of the node you're going to connect to, set
automatic dial-out to DISABLED, and enter your session, packet, Areafix, and
Allfix passwords. Choose ZIP for the compression, and name the directory, if you
prefer a name rather than a numeric one assigned by VADV32.
That directory will be under C:\VA\FIDOMAIL\OUT -- so if your entry for my
system is called TBOLT, you'd name it such, and it'd be C:\VA\FIDOMAIL\OUT\TBOLT
where all my outgoing mail would go.
Then, in Internet Rex (mine is for Windows), choose REXCFGW (if for
Windows), and under General Information have it set to Advanced or Expert
mode. Under node manager, select the desired entry, and where it says MAILBOX
DIRECTORY, enter C:\VA\FIDOMAIL\OUT\TBOLT (in my case).
Back to the FIDONet setup under VADV32, you need to also be sure to route
any netmail direct to my node...or for my net region, to my node.
Hope this helps.
