The usual practice has always been that such scripts come with instructions on
how to use them.  I did try it in XP but the attempt crapped-out, as is usual
for anything DOS I ever needed to do in it.  Which is why I'm still running
Win98SE, with the best ever MS-DOS.

Okay.  I ran DEBUG against the script, and it produced a neat .ZIP enclosing an 
.EXE called Datefile.  I ran Datefile against a test text file in XP and it
worked!  I now have a file named 092315A.TXT in place of the original.  How's
that!  :)

I'll deliver the Datefile.Zip to your node, real soon.  Look out for it.
